As the Omnis ventilator incorporates a microprocessor, mobile app, and closed loop sensor feedback we are able to incorporate the same modes and accuracy as current ventilators being used today.

Ventilator Modes:

-Assist Control Volume Ventilation

Continous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)

-Inspiratory/Expiratory Ratio

We all want to do our part to help battle COVID-19. At Outer Reef Technologies we felt the best way we could help was to develop an effective ventilator which can be constructed simply and affordably in order to save lives around the world. The situation very much resembled Apollo 13 as the NASA engineers only had a single box full of supplies to save the Astronauts lives. The only difference is that there are many more lives at risk here. Our team named the ventilator Omnis from the Latin word for ‘everyone’, aligned with our goal to design and build an affordable and effective ventilator that can be made available to all, worldwide. Our design goal for Omnis was to use as few parts as possible, include only readily available and mass-produced components, and to ensure assembly required only standard tools so that anyone can manufacture them. By developing a mobile app we were able to decrease the overall complexity and cost by over 50%. As Omins is designed with sophisticated sensors, the system can be operated and monitored very similar to standard ventilators being utilized in the field today. The majority cost and complexity has been in the firmware and app development which means manufacturing these system has a total part cost of around $500.
